I found out this afternoon that today is my "Friday". I had a couple of clients scheduled for tomorrow, but one session got cancelled, so I called the other one today and asked to do it a day early. We did and now, I am off tomorrow and for the next several days (until Tuesday).
What's interesting about that is that I had been thinking recently about how much I enjoy having several days off in a row and just sort of idly wondering how I might make that happen more often. In fact, I'm planning to schedule at least one week off each month, but was thinking I wouldn't be able to start until next month.
And then, life gave me almost a week this month! :)
And suddenly, I am at the end of my workweek! :)
Something else interesting happened today. While my son and I were watching the Waltons, he stretched out across my leg and I decided to take the opportunity to do some reiki on him. Well, we'd already done the Healing Codes and the reiki may have just been more than he needed because he had a healing response.
What's interesting about that, though, is that most people have fatigue, irritability, headaches, cold symptoms, etc. Jonathan's healing responses are always behavioral!!
It was short-lived, but he was able to do quite a bit in that short period of time!
That tells me that a little goes a long way with him, which is great.

Release of Rejection
Something unusual happened today. I was taking a walk with my son, across the dirt and under the trees, and when we got to the one we think of as the "love" tree, I didn't feel much love. I didn't feel much of anything!
Now, I've not been feeling well these past few days. But taking a walk outside almost always makes me feel better!
I realized that I was feeling sad and began to wonder why. Watching the Oscars made me sad, again, about Heath, but I was aware that that wasn't it, there was more. So I just let myself be and finished the walk. It wasn't until I was back inside that I remembered something that happened recently, an exchange with a friend that hurt my feelings and made me feel rejected!
It hadn't occurred to me when it happened that I would need to heal it, but apparently I did. So I began to work on healing it and several other incidences that have occurred in the past few months came to mind and I realized that they were presenting themselves for healing, too.
In about 15 minutes, I had healed the rejection, infused forgiveness and created the ability to connect again fully with the people who had hurt me (I did this using reiki and the Healing Codes). When I was done, that's when I realized something I think is rather important. I am used to thinking that trauma or really upsetting events lead to closing the heart. But today I realized it may happen far more frequently than that.
Each time we are rejected or hurt we react by closing the doors of our hearts. I'm sure it's an attempt to protect ourselves from being hurt again. But what that does is keep out the love that's in the air around us. From our husbands and wives, from our children, from our friends. From God or the universe. Love is all around, as the Mary Tyler Moore theme goes. But our ability to perceive it, to feel it, will be compromised to some degree, at least temporarily, if we have unhealed wounds, even small ones.

Happy Homemade Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I've had a great day, so far! I just had a nice long bath complete with romance novel (of course it was written for Christmas, but that just added a merry touch to my Love Day celebration). This is my last work day of the week, so I have had clients this afternoon, but I've managed to celebrate in between.
I think I've had the most fun today when I was spreading the love around. This morning, both my son and I prepared homemade Valentine's Day cards and gifts for each other, and our homeschooling had a Valentine's Day theme. Then, later, I made smileboxes for my friends and had a great time sending those off by email.
This afternoon, my son and I used reiki to send love to family and friends. That felt good, too!
And I think in a little while, we'll take a little walk and soak up the love we feel with our trees. Jonathan has begun to see aura colors when we do reiki and there's one tree we love where he has begun to see an aura color, too, as we walk by.
Wonder which color he'll see today?
